About Sotogrande Residences
VL&P was formed by Adrian (Ad) van Loon, born in the Netherlands, who grew up in international advertising and marketing in close collaboration with Louis Soeterboek, co-founder of the marketing studies of the Institute for Social Studies in the Netherlands and creator too of the concept “Industrial Marketing”.
Adrian van Loon worked out of offices in Eindhoven for more than twenty years as a consultant for Dutch based multinational companies; including Philips and various companies in the building industry.
For many years, van Loon was also the marketing consultant for “Stybenex”, the association of polystyrene producers in Europe, for whom he developed many strategies and introduced several polystyrene building and packaging products in Europe.
At the end of the eighties Adrian van Loon decided to move to Spain and to start operating out of Sotogrande, without a doubt, one of the best resorts in Andalusia, southern Spain, located between Marbella and Gibraltar and known worldwide for its golf courses (e.g. Valderrama) and polo fields.
One of his foremost involvements became the creation, in 1995, and the operation, of Merweval Real Estate, a well-known “full service” office with a main market of Sotogrande and its direct surroundings.
Mid 2005 Adrian van Loon decided to restructure Merweval and to continue working under the name Van Loon & Partners, at the same time expanding his real estate and marketing services to new markets and other luxury destinations.
Today the activities of VL&P stretch all over Spain and include California and luxury destinations such as Miami and Manhattan as well as Panama, the Dominican Republic and Morocco.
Adrian van Loon has a close relationship with the Dutch Embassy in Madrid; he is a member of the Dutch business club in Madrid and of the FHN (The Spanish Dutch Federation for Industrial Development).
Furthermore, Adrian van Loon is one of the founders and the current president of the Cultural Association of Sotogrande.
